Extreme Makeover: Web Edition
September 21, 2007
Two video professional services firms were rewarded with “Extreme Makeovers” for their websites today as part of the Media Communications Association International Pro Track 2007.
MediaRich business manager and co-founder Susan Price presented “Extreme Makeovers: Web Edition” — very loosely modeled on the Extreme Makeover TV series. MCA-I media professionals also participated in a dynamic, fact-filled interaction with MediaRich’s Social Media and Communities expert Julie Gomoll, who presented “What the Heck Is Social Media?”
The MCA-I conference provides media communications professionals an opportunity to share best practices across media disciplines. Members include professional writers, producers, editors, web designers, multimedia specialists, camera operators, lighting designers, graphic artists and marketing executives, as well as performers and talent.
In her hour-long workshop, Susan reviewed in depth the websites of two professional video services firms and provided competitive analysis, a full rearchitecture and wireframes, as well as marketing and SEO strategy and branding advice.
In the Social Media session, Julie shared specific ideas for media professionals to leverage blogs, YouTube and other tools to lift their business and connect with clients and colleagues. The highlight was Julie’s live demonstration of blogging her experience during the session, including embedding a video clip.
Here are links to the presentations we gave, and the materials and worksheets we shared. Have fun with them, and let us know if you found them helpful. Special thanks and kudos to our participants for sharing their websites, stories and ideas.
If you’re interested in inviting Susan, Julie or another MediaRich professional to present at your organization, feel free to contact us for specifics.
