Web Developer
This position requires technical knowledge, interpersonal communication skills, creative abilities, problem solving, and a high level of dependability. This position requires ability to complete projects in a timely manner, prioritize tasks, and to recognize the need for and implement improvements during development.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Programming- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, XML, SQL queries, RSS, Flash
- Experience with web scripting language (ColdFusion, ASP, PHP, or similar) or other technical knowledge / programming skills to develop searchable/interactive web pages as assigned
- A solid understanding of procedural and object-oriented code
- Familiarity with framework-driven development environments a plus
- Experience with web development software (Dreamweaver, Homesite, etc.)
- Work to develop databases for use in dynamic web pages
- Write efficient query statements
- Design interactive features such as surveys, as requested, using applicable software applications, techniques, and tools.
- Knowledge of and/or experience designing sites that meet W3C’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG); testing/optimizing sites for usability; and using web accessibility evaluation tools.
- Ability to create page layouts within the site design, following established guidelines and in accordance to designs provided by art director and interface designer.
- Transfer content to the web in an efficient manner
- Proof existing content to help identify out-of-date material
- Test web graphics for cross-browser implementation
- Enhance graphics/images provided by artists to improve load time (if necessary)
